Adopt a Rottweiler (medium coat)

Rottweiler (medium coat) Dog

Hazel the Dog needs a home

Hello, my name is Hazel. I hope that as you read this you will come to know a little bit about me. I am a purebred Rottweiler and am around 3 years old.  And perhaps you will understand why my foster mom says that these words from a song called Love's Divine by a man named Seal tell so much of my story....

"Oh I, don't bend (don't bend), don't break (don't break)

Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake

'Cause love can help me know my name"

You see, I came from a place called a "puppy mill." It was a bad and scary place. I had no name. I really had no life. And when the puppy mill decided that I was not worth anything and that they were going to get rid of me, thankfully some wonderful and caring people got together to save me and bring me to Buffalo Cares. The first thing that I was given when I got here was a name. It took some time for me to learn that that name was mine, and that the good people saying my name were my friends and trying to help me. They also gave me a nice safe place to live, good food to eat, and they showed me what love is. My friends here at Buffalo Cares gave me time to get to know and trust them, and I have rediscovered that place in my heart where love had been hiding. I have also learned that it is fun to walk and run and play with my foster mom. And I have gone to school and learned about things like how to walk at a heel on leash, and to sit or lay down and stay when I am told to do so.  Most importantly I have learned to know and love my very own name, and to joyfully come running to my foster mom when she calls me.

So there you have it....My name is Hazel. I am a survivor; my past did not break me. I am smart and I am brave. I am loyal and loving to people who take the time to let me get to know & trust them. I love to run and play and roll around in the grass when I scratch my back...

I am Hazel, and I am ready and waiting for that very special person who I can love with my whole heart for all the days of my life.

Hazel's adoption fee is $325 plus a $50.00 training deposit.
